Employee Q&A Spotlight: Meet Dave

Dave Estridge, Customer Service

This month, we’re highlighting Dave Estridge, a veteran employee of more than 20 years at Versa-Drill and a key voice our customers rely on daily. After some time away, he’s back — and fully committed to supporting drillers with the expertise only decades of experience can bring.

Q: What brought you to Versa-Drill, and what made you return?

Dave: I spent 21 years here the first time around. Even when I wasn’t working at Versa-Drill, I still caught myself saying “we.” It gets in your blood. When the chance came to return, I wanted to keep doing what I’ve always cared about — helping customers.

Q: What did your background look like before joining Versa-Drill?

Dave: I came from a manufacturing background and brought that mechanical experience with me. Once I joined Versa-Drill, I never really looked back.

Q: What’s your role today?

Dave: Customer Service. When customers call, I help them troubleshoot their rigs and walk through whatever they need. My whole job is supporting them over the phone.

Q: What energizes you about your work?

Dave: Making sure customers feel like they matter. It’s rare these days to call a company and feel truly cared for. I want people to know someone on the other end is doing everything they can to help.

Q: Anything people might be surprised to learn about you?

Dave: My life is pretty simple — faith, church, and work. No hobbies, no toys. That’s what matters most to me.

Q: What’s a moment from your career that you’re proud of?

Dave: Seeing how far the rigs have come. When I started, engineers were sketching designs on paper. Now everything is digital, modern, and advanced. Watching that evolution has been incredible.

Q: What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Dave: Do what’s right, and the money will take care of itself.

We’re grateful to have Dave back on the Versa-Drill team. His honesty, dedication, and deep knowledge make him an invaluable resource for our customers — and a vital part of our company’s history and future.
