Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Functions/Duties:
Create new options for existing products typically at the request of a customer during a rig sale.
Work with a team to design and develop new drilling equipment striving for operator’s safety, competitive advantages, and overall product/process improvement.
Work closely with electric and hydraulic controls engineers to ensure designs are cohesive with mechanical designs.
Review and address engineering change requests from sales, service, and production departments.
Assist internal production and service departments with the implementation and service of new and existing designs.
Generate component drawings and BOMs for all rig designs to be procured from outside vendors.
Adhere to Laibe engineering processes and documentation.
Job Requirements and Capabilities:
BS in Engineering or Technology from an accredited college or an equivalent 5 + years of relevant experience in the heavy equipment industry
Experience in machine design and project management.
Proficiency in CAD 3d modeling with Solid Edge or similar programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
